Commission decision adopted on the MFF post-2020 package (debate)

in writing . - I see no ambition nor conviction in this MFF proposal, President Juncker. We need the European Commission to act with courage to make governments in the European Council live up to their responsibilities and find ways to substantially increase the Union's own resources to finance all priorities and common policies, including new challenges in Security & Defence and, of course, Cohesion & Convergence policies, which are strategic for sustaining Euro and Union. Governments in Council must be urged to stop tax dumping and instead harmonise tax policies, so that they do not continue to enable tax evasion, money laundering and huge amounts syphoned into organised crime and even terrorist organisations - that is what's happening with 50 billion euros per year lost in VAT fraud. VAT reform, as proposed by Commissioner Moscovici, can no longer be delayed by the Council and would increase own resources. The European Commission should forcefully push the Council to adopt CCCTB and a minimum corporate tax rate to ensure that corporations in the digital economy and polluting industries and financial transactions would PAY TAX to increase the Union's own resources and national incomes. And so that SMEs and European citizens, who pay their taxes, will not be further overburdened.
