The EU continuously monitors how Israeli legislation and state institutions ensure equality for all their citizens. Accordingly, the EU will continue to follow with particular attention the evolution of the so-called ‘nation-state bill', which is currently under discussion among lawmakers in Israel.

Human rights, including the rights of the Israeli-Arab minority, are among the main priorities of the EU in its relations with Israel.

The EU raises its concerns with the Israeli authorities, as appropriate, in the framework of bilateral dialogues such as the EU-Israel informal working group on human rights, the EU-Israel sub-committee on political dialogue and cooperation, or at the highest political level including in meetings of the EU-Israel Association Council.

The EU also supports a number of projects undertaken by civil society organisations that focus on providing support to the Arab minority, including under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR)(1).
