The judgment of the General Court in case T-512/12 confirms that the EU may conclude international agreements with Morocco also covering Western Sahara under certain conditions. The judgment is now under appeal as regards those conditions as well as regards the admissibility of the action. The appeal is decided under an accelerated procedure, so a judgment on appeal is to be expected before the end of 2016.

The Commission cannot speculate as to what the outcome may be, and the consequences of that outcome. The Commission is not aware of any possible plans by Morocco to bring the matter before an international court.
